KORONI

Its medieval color is imprinted on the old mansions, the narrow streets, the churches and the Venetian castle located in the harbor.

The first surprise that awaits you, after you pass through the tall arched gateway, is that this is not a forgotten ruin, because villagers still live here, among the ruins of the castle with gardens full of fruits and vegetables.

Inside the castle you will see the paleoimerologist monastery of St. John the Baptist.

According to Pausanias the name comes from Koroneia Boeotia, whereas according to the second version it is named after a bronze krona (currency) that was found during the construction of the walls.

On the back side of the village you can swim at ZIAGKOU and Memi beaches. (26 km away).
