Pylos is a beautiful city amphitheatrically built on two hills at the southern end of the bay of Navarino. There you can see two story houses, with courtyards and flowers and buildings with arches.
The central square, where many pastry shops are located, is covered with enormous plane trees. On the west side of the town stands the castle called Neokastro to distinguish from the ancient one, located on the northwest side and called Palaiokastro. At the foot of Palaeokastro lies the bay of the beach Voidokoilia.
